The Distance Education Department Support Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the distance education courses conducted within the department are carried out smoothly. This includes facilitating effective communication between the faculty and the university's Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEM), and supporting student-faculty interaction.
Monitoring the Distance Education Process:
Ensure that all distance education courses conducted within the department are executed on time and comprehensively, in accordance with the academic calendar, course definitions, material upload deadlines, and exam schedules set by UZEM.
Providing Technical Support to Faculty:
Guide and provide technical support to faculty members on topics such as preparing course videos, uploading materials to the system, scheduling live lessons, and using exam and assignment systems.
Establishing a Communication Bridge with UZEM:
Ensure coordination between the university's UZEM unit and the department, delivering updates, instructions, and announcements to faculty members in a timely manner.
Material Control and Compatibility:
Promote the use of sufficient, up-to-date, and pedagogically appropriate course materials (PDFs, videos, presentations, exercises) in distance education.
Evaluating Student Feedback:
Monitor technical or content-related issues raised by students, develop solutions, and share them with relevant faculty members.
Planning and Monitoring Live Classes:
Ensure that live classes are scheduled according to the weekly course timetable, and track elements such as participation, recording, and duration through UZEM reports.
Exam and Assessment Implementation:
Monitor midterm and final exams conducted online, and inform faculty members to ensure that the exams are conducted securely and fairly.
Data and Reporting:
Collect data related to the execution of distance education courses, including participation, success rates, and system usage, and present this data to the department management.
Crisis and Emergency Management:
Provide quick solutions and manage the process in case of technical malfunctions, system updates, or student access issues in the distance education system.
Continuous Improvement:
Develop improvement suggestions for practices aimed at enhancing the quality of distance education and share these with faculty members.
