The MÜDEK Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the department’s undergraduate program meets the criteria set by the Engineering Education Program Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MÜDEK). They are in charge of planning, organizing, and managing all stages of the accreditation process, from the application to the site visit, in a planned, systematic, and efficient manner.
Planning the Accreditation Process:
Plan and manage the application, self-assessment report (SAR), document preparation, and visit organization in accordance with the MÜDEK accreditation timeline for the department.
Commission Coordination:
Form the MÜDEK Commission, ensure the effective functioning of relevant sub-committees (such as assessment and evaluation, stakeholder relations, continuous improvement, etc.), and organize regular meetings.
Defining Educational Objectives and Program Outcomes:
Ensure that the department’s educational objectives and program outcomes are defined and updated in alignment with MÜDEK criteria.
Gathering Stakeholder Feedback:
Collect regular feedback from students, alumni, employers, and faculty to assess the validity of program outcomes.
Preparation of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR):
Prepare or supervise the preparation of a detailed Self-Assessment Report, covering all academic, administrative, physical, and quality processes of the department as specified by MÜDEK.
Data Collection and Analysis:
Ensure the collection and analysis of all quantitative and qualitative data, such as course contribution matrices, assessment and evaluation data, survey results, and achievement level analyses.
Preparation for the Site Visit:
Ensure that the necessary documents, presentations, display boards, and laboratory arrangements are prepared for the MÜDEK evaluation team’s site visit. Coordinate the representation of the department during the visit.
Managing the Continuous Improvement Process:
Ensure that continuous improvements are made in the program based on feedback, evaluation results, and performance indicators, and document these improvements.
Monitoring Course Files:
Monitor that course syllabi, sample exams, student records, and other relevant documents are prepared completely by faculty members for each course offered each semester.
Communication and Reporting:
Coordinate with faculty management on official correspondence with MÜDEK, report submissions, and process updates.
Informing Department Personnel:
Inform all faculty members about MÜDEK criteria, outcomes-based education systems, assessment and evaluation principles, and continuous improvement processes.
