Purpose:

The Quality and Accreditation Commission is responsible for ensuring that the educational, research, and community service activities carried out in the department are conducted in accordance with quality assurance processes. It also coordinates the necessary work to ensure compliance with national and international accreditation standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. In line with the department’s strategic plan and goals, to determine unit-specific indicators in accordance with internal and external quality assurance for evaluating and improving the quality of educational, research, and administrative services; to carry out current and future activities based on the principles set by the University Quality Commission; and to submit reports/information/documents/evidence to the Faculty Quality Commission.

2. To prepare reports/information/documents reflecting the quality of the unit's educational and research activities and the outcomes of quality improvement efforts; to submit them to the University Quality Commission; and to make them publicly available on the department's website.

3. To conduct studies related to the accreditation of educational, research, and administrative activities in coordination with other departmental commissions.

4. To communicate the decisions of the Quality Commission to other relevant commissions of the unit, to contribute to their implementation, and to monitor the outcomes.

5. Through the reports prepared, to identify the strengths and weaknesses in the department’s administrative, educational, and academic activities, and to report them to the Department Chair along with recommendations for improvement.

6. The unit quality commission shall meet four times during each academic year and submit the meeting reports to the Department Chair.

7. The commission shall submit an annual activity report to the Department Chair by the end of January each year.
